casey cook; a songstress with versatile vocals, captivating melodies & honest lyrics
Casey Cook was born and raised in Rhode Island where she quickly found a love for performing at the age of eight. She went on to play the lead in countless school productions and professional theaters, becoming the first female freshman to earn a leading role at an all male school. Casey stood out for her authentic portrayal of characters, but her angelic vocals are what lead her to Belmont University’s prestigious music program. While at Belmont, Casey studied vocal performance with an emphasis in commercial music. Through piano chords, Casey discovered a new found love; songwriting.
After graduating from Belmont in 2015, she headed west to Los Angeles, CA and began releasing music of her own, collaborating with many talented artists and songwriters. Her ability to craft meaningful stories with and for other artists transcends genres. She is now the go-to songwriter for a variety of international artists in pop and EDM. Casey thrives in the EDM world with a genuine passion for top-lining with producers who create melodious tracks. Seeking Blue, Dim Mak, No Copyright Sounds, Trap City, and Strange Fruits are some of the labels she has released under.
In April 2019, Casey co-wrote “Boundaries” on Eurovision Contest winner Lena Meyer-Landrut’s single. Just a month later it became official campaign song for Marvel’s X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix in Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and several other European countries.
In June, Casey collaborated with NBC Songland finalist Darius Coleman, winner of the Kelsea Ballerini episode, on his new single “High of U” along with fellow Songland contestants Jack Newsome and Daniel Feels.
On August 14, 2019 Casey Cook competed on NBC’s new hit TV songwriting competition; Songland, pitching her original song, “Judgements” to global megastar, Macklemore. Casey was selected to move on to the final round and was paired with producer Ester Dean (“Firework” by Katy Perry, “Rude Boy” by Rihanna, “Super Bass” by Nicki Minaj, “Mr. Know It All” by Kelly Clarkson and “Come & Get It” by Selena Gomez) to tailor her song to fit Macklemore’s style. Ultimately, the rapper chose a different song but Casey released her new version with Ester.
